Apothecary

I grew up in a rural area in Jamaica where the kids there spent most of their days outdoors. My mother would send me to gather all types of herbs for the house, lots of teas and herbs for making meals. So I inadvertently learned how to live off the land and the behaviors of nature. I learned how things grew and the intimate balance they had with each other. As I grew older my belief systems began cultivating. The more I sought higher concepts  the more I realized I was reverting back to the knowledge I learned when I was younger. I began working with herbs a lot more and seeking them out for their many uses. I also was never a person who wore perfumes and had adverse reactions to chemicals that I put on my body. I’ve never used deodorant and perfumes but was drawn to oils even at a young age, so thus my exploration began.

One of the best ways to harness plant energy is through oils and tinctures that preserve their essence for the longevity of the oil.  I make handcrafted oils. I then take these oils and add them to lotions, creams, scrubs, etc. to harness their power in my daily use. The criteria for a handcrafted oil is that they have to be made by individual hands using the actual herbs, flowers, roots, with other natural ingredients like minerals, essential oil, etc. Then they have to be ritually charged with intent and consecrated under the tenets of the metaphysical practice a person uses.

If you wish to use a concoction made by someone other than yourself then for optimal results you should charge the bottle of oil with your intent.  How to do is simple and can be used to program any of the items I carry in this line:

Hold the object in your left hand, close your eyes and breath until you are in a peaceful meditative state. Some people go into Alpha brain waves but if you choose not to or can’t just quiet your mind as quiet as you can get it.

State your intent. You are basically saying to the object what you would like it to do for you.

Then start to visualize your intent coming true.  Place the bottle now in your right hand and imagine your visualization turning into a ball of energy sitting in your left hand then traveling from left hand through your entire body then down the right hand and into the object.

Restate your intent. Open your eyes, you are finished.

Another way, and one of my favorite ways, is to attune the object to the rhythm of your heart and breath.

Place the object to your chest and state your purpose. Then close your eyes.

Inhale with the object pressed to your chest, then place it to your lips and exhale. Repeat this over and over again as you envision your desires coming true. Do this long enough to put yourself in a meditative state.

Once you feel you have reached a successful meditative state, stop, open your eyes, look at the object and restate your intent. You are done.

Once done the herbs are used to rub their energy on to anything it touches. You can dress a candle with this intent, or put on an object or totem that you leave in an environment to affect change. Drop some in a bath. Dab it on your resume if you are seeking employment. Put some in your wash if you want your clothing to carry energy for getting work or finding love or attracting more success. The possibilities are endless! But do not ingest.
