Atmosphere

Air – Incense, smudges, resins, wood chips and herbs can be used alone or infused together.  Their purpose for use is to fill the air with their energy and life force to remove, attract or change the energy of an environment. They are tools that affect environmental change. They are great for creating pleasant smells in the home but can also be used for energy transference. When banishing it is good to leave the windows open so the unwanted energies can escape and likewise to draw in unwanted ones.  Air tools also enhance meditative states and affect changes to your mood.

Fire – Fire magic is extremely simple, beautiful and powerful because you are using the energy of a the flame to tap into lightwave energy and project your will into the ether or energetic fabric. The active part of the candle is it’s flame. I equate flames to being like individuals with personalities. Every flame burns with it’s own unique pattern independent from outside forces such as wind. Notice when burning many candles in the same room that the flames all move separately from each other. As if a chorus of individuals are in the same place. When this flame is extinguished it takes all of the memory that you programed into the other world with it. That being said, it’s also why you use new candles for every spell or the same candle for many days spells. The receptive part is the wax. You use the wax to do your programing. When making them you can add things to the wax that enchant them with certain energies. You can also write words or create pictures and sigils that stands for what you want on to the candle. Sit down and meditate your intent while focusing on the flame. You are trying to have a dialog with the flame and ask it to do your bidding when it goes away, it is off to work.

Water – A ritual bath can be as simple as dropping some handcrafted oil into a tub and bathing in it. Or you can make herbal teas by steeping a pot of herbs into boiled water then pouring it into your bath. Then milk, epsom salts and anything natural can be added. What you are doing in a ritual bath is soaking not only your physical self but also your spiritual self in the energy of the herbs and oils that you are using. You want to do this spiritual cleansing before a ritual or just to remove unwanted energy, psychic attacks, or create a new field of energy around yourself. In your bath you should relax and meditate on your intention while washing yourself either with downward strokes if you are removing something or upward if drawing something to you. The element of water is the second and primary element in baths. The action of water is to flow and in so doing it pulls energy along with it and brings it back to the earth to be recycled. Water also contains memory and we too are made of mostly water. By setting water with intent we are also setting our own bodies with this intent which stays with us and helps to reprogram our beings. When you come out of a spiritual bath where herbs are used it is best to air dry or lightly pat dry. The herbs are setting on to your person with all that memory of the cleansing of your bath.
